Saplings Nature School is an independent school for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students
What We Believe
At Saplings, we believe that learning extends beyond the traditional classroom walls. Our students spend half of each day engaged in outdoor exploration, fostering a deep connection with nature. We view nature as a co-teacher, providing an environment where students develop resilience, empathy, and a sense of wonder.
Following the BC curriculum, our approach is play-based, project-driven, and child-centered. Educators observe and document each child's interests, guiding them through inquiries that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. This approach encourages students to become thoughtful, engaged, and self-motivated learners.
Our multi-age classrooms and smaller class sizes foster a supportive community where students learn from and with each other.
