At Saplings we believe that all students/ staff and families have:

  • Right to privacy

  • Right to your name

  • Right to your beliefs and opinions

  • Right to be safe

  • Right to be heard

  • Right to a loving family and home

  • Right to healthy food

  • Right to life

  • Right to belong

  • Right to gender & gender identity

  • Right to education

  • Right to share your ideas

  • Right to participate

  • Right to expression

  • Right to rest

  • Right to special education if you have a disability

  • Right to be cared for

  • Right to your language

  • Right to culture

  • Right to be protected from hurt or the mistreatment of your body and mind

  • Right to nationality

  • Right to your identity

  • Right to basic needs (food, clothes safe place to live)

  • Right to choose your friendships- as long as it’s not harmful to others

  • Right to play

  • Right to be free from sexual, physical or emotional abuse

  • No-one is allowed to punish you in a cruel or harmful way

  • Right to help if you’ve been hurt, neglected or badly treated
